Need a Tooth Removed? We Make It Gentle, Calm, and Comfortable.

Tooth Extraction in Edinburgh

If you’re dealing with persistent pain, an infected tooth, or one that just can’t be saved, extraction might be the next step. But that doesn’t mean it has to be stressful, painful, or traumatic.

At Integrated Dentalcare, our approach to tooth removal is gentle, precise, and centred around your comfort, from the first conversation to full recovery.

Tooth Trouble Can’t Wait Forever. But Fear Shouldn’t Stop You Either.

Tooth extractions are sometimes necessary when decay has gone too far, when infection can’t be reversed, or when a tooth is causing pain or crowding.

However, for many patients, the fear of the procedure itself is what causes the delays. We understand.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to remove teeth differently: with cutting-edge techniques, advanced healing support, and a human-first experience that puts you completely at ease.

What Is “Gentle Tooth Removal”?

It’s more than a buzzword. It’s a clinically proven way to make the process of extraction less invasive, less painful, and less anxiety-inducing.

At Integrated Dentalcare, we combine:

  • Waterlase Laser Technology – A laser-water combo that reduces trauma to gum and bone, often leading to faster healing.
  • Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) – A natural healing aid made from your own blood to speed up recovery and reduce post-op pain.
  • Sedation Options – Available for patients who feel anxious or overwhelmed.
  • Local Anaesthetic – Ensures a comfortable procedure.
  • Calm, Caring Environment – We take the time to answer your questions and check in with you often.

Why Might You Need a Tooth Removed?

Tooth extraction may be recommended for:

  • Severe decay that can’t be restored
  • Ongoing infection or failed root canal
  • Loose teeth due to advanced gum disease
  • Overcrowding before orthodontic treatment
  • Preparation for implants or other restorations
  • Impacted wisdom teeth causing discomfort or infection

Neeraj provided excellent care when an abscess developed and the tooth could not be saved. Despite my concerns, he managed to extract the tooth without any pain, using his gentle tooth removal protocol.

I had one of my molars removed with PRF recently with Dr. Neeraj Puri from the Integrated Dentalcare and I had a very comfortable and speedy recovery. I didn’t even need any painkillers the day after the operation. I had thought that it was because of Dr Puri’s expertise – he removed my tooth very gently, thus protecting the surrounding teeth and issues very well. My friend recommend Dr. Puri to me when I moved into Edinburgh. Dr. Puri is very reliable, kind and professional. I feel he is not only dedicated to the practice but also studies hard and always delves into the most advanced technology in dentistry and applies these to his practice. This time, when he checked my teeth in two weeks after the operation, I thanked him for his technique and patience which I think contributed to such a speedy recovery, he told me the quick recovery is mainly due to the PRF, membrane made from my blood that nourished the healing, not only because of his experience in tooth extractions. Thank you Dr. Puri for both your expertise and the PRF you applied. I highly recommend Dr. Neeraj Puri to everyone.

I’ve always been frightened of going to the Dentist probably due to bad experiences when I was younger but I found this gem of a place about four years ago where Neeraj and his team go out their way to keep me relaxed. Recently I needed implants removed, sadly chemotherapy has had a massive impact on my gums, and to my surprise and shock Neeraj informed me I had the type of implants that were meant to be in for life and therefore nearly impossible to remove. Because of Neeraj’s skill and passion in keeping up with the latest dental technologies, this meant he had invested in the special laser required for my surgery. I am excited to say that since their removal my health has improved greatly.

I had the Plasma Rich Fibrin treatment performed by the lead clinician Dr Neeraj Puri at Edinburgh’s Integrated Dental Care for removal of a wisdom tooth that was intermittently giving me pain and discomfort. The procedure is amazingly simple and involves administration of local anaesthesia and gentle extraction of the problem tooth followed by laser cleaning of the extraction site. Then a blood clot formed from a small sample of my own blood (taken painlessly beforehand by an expert dental nurse) was used to fill the site in order to promote healing and wound closure using my body’s own biological processes – the healing site is then secured by two tiny sutures. Post-procedure I had no pain and subsequently no inflammation, swelling or any pain or discomfort whatsoever. Integrated Dental Care scheduled a follow up appointment two weeks afterwards just to check on the healing and to painlessly remove two sutures. The whole procedure cleverly enlists the body’s own healing capabilities, I’m totally enamoured with this approach. I have never experienced such a pain free and effortless (on my part!) dental procedure! Based on my experience I would recommend both the holistic benefits of this procedure and the expert team at Edinburgh’s Integrated Dental Care. My thanks also to Dr Puri and his team.

FAQs – What People Often Ask

Will it hurt?

We use local anaesthetics to fully numb the area, and sedation is available. Most patients are surprised by how painless the experience is, especially with Waterlase and PRF.

How long does recovery take?

It depends on the complexity, but many patients feel back to normal in just a few days. PRF and gentle techniques help speed things up.

Can I eat afterwards?

Wait until the anaesthetic wears off. Then stick to soft foods and follow our dietary advice to avoid disturbing the healing area.

Do I need to replace the tooth?

In many cases, yes—especially for chewing or visible areas. We’ll talk you through replacement options like implants, bridges, or partial dentures during your planning.

Do I need to be sedated?

Not necessarily, but it’s available if you’re nervous or have dental anxiety. We’ll tailor everything to your comfort.
